There's no shortage of idiots to babble.

What I have been up to lately:
  • Trying to make my orchids grow with phototherapy. I like to believe it's actually working.
  • Mattifying my nails with Essie's Matte About You.
  • Visiting an exhibition of real human bodies.
  • Realising that Red Bull makes my heart beat faster. I'm sticking with coffee.
  • Studying, studying, studying...

Artist Hung Liu, Sundown of the Last Dynasty, at the Michael Berger Art Gallery, Pittsburgh PA South Side

Artist Hung Liu, Sundown of the Last Dynasty
Pittsburgh PA, South Side.

There's an amazing art exhibit there! Lithographs, etchings, ink on paper, tapestries, archival digital prints and more. And yes, digital prints can be archival despite what bizarre assumptions people hold, including the grinch who accosted me during Unblurred last Friday.

It opened December 5th, 2009. I'm not sure how long it runs but I'll check.

Preview: Sonia Rykiel for H&M

As I mentioned earlier, tonight I was at the showroom in Zurich to preview the latest H&M designer collaboration, namely the lingerie collection of Sonia Rykiel which is going to be in stores December 5th. I was confronted with beautiful things a girl doesn't necessarily need but still want... :)

There were some more casual underwear like the ones with stripes or plain colored ones like in pink and blue but I was more attracted to the rail above with garter belts and high waisted panties.

The silk kimonos in different lenghts were really glamorous.

This body, which also comes in black & blue, was one of my favourites. The shape creates an illusion of a slimmer waist and the black stitching and the chunky zipper back closure are really beautiful.

The same with this balconette bra: zipper at the front, larger straps than usual. Definitely something else than your usual lace bra...

The collection also entails silk knickers and nightgowns, with or without the flower detail.

lace corset

bow detail on the striped panties

jeweled slippers

Although I wasn't originally planning on buying anything I changed my mind after the visit at the showroom. I'll be at an H&M store this saturday to treat myself to a motivational gift before the final exams. From my biased review it's probably not so hard to guess what I'll be after...

Sonia Rykiel for H&M show in Paris

On Thursday I'm going to preview the collection at the showroom in Zurich but the main event will be held at the Grand Palais in Paris tonight. From what I've heard and read, it's going to be a cheerful show full of surprises that shouldn't be missed!

The event will be streamed online live at hm.com/soniarykiel on Tuesday December 1, 23:00 CET (GMT/UMT = 22:00, EST = 17:00, AEST = Dec 2 9:00)

And for those who want to get in the mood while waiting:
