On paper

Some time ago I had the chance to have a chit-chat with Yvan Rodic at his book signing in Zurich. In other cities people line up to see him but it was not at all surprising that the excitment in Zurich was not so high. Facehunter contains a selection of his streetstyle pictures from all around the world. People with charisma, madness and a unique sense of style. Far from the way I dress but still very inspirational!

Fashionista – Style icons of a century was a birthday gift from my girlfriends last year. From A to Z it features women like Rania Al-Abdullah (Queen of Jordan) to Rachel Zoe, divided in categories such as The ladies (Jacky O, Audrey Hepburn…), The bombshells (Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe...), The minimalists (Sofia Coppola, Jil Sander…) etc.
A great pleasure to read for every fashion lover!

The It-girls:
Edie Sedgwick, Chloe Sevigny, Louise Brooks, Bianca Jagger, Sienna Miller, Marchesa Luisa Casati, Twiggy, Kate Moss, Mary Quant

The bonbons:
Carrie Bradshaw, Kylie Minogue, Rachel Zoe

Past, present, future

This picture from the Raoul Spring 2010 campaign brought back memories of the internship I did last summer in Istanbul. The weather is really nice this afternoon so I'm going to a café to finally read the first issue of Vogue Türkiye that my dear blogger friend Yasemin sent me. I wish the weather was already warm enough to wear the outfit below but with tights it might work just as well.

I'm off enjoying some me-time and dreaming about my next internship...

Have a good start to the weekend everyone!

Night Shopping at H&M/ Sonia Rykiel Pre-Sale

Yesterday H&M and the Swiss magazines Annabelle and Friday hosted a night shopping and the guests also had the chance to buy the Sonia Rykiel knitwear collection beforehand. Since I wasn't crazy about the collection I just did some regular shopping and hung out with friends who were also there. A fun night with music, candies, macarons and lots of champagne... ^^

What are your thoughts on the collection? Will you be buying anything tomorrow?

What they're wearing in...

The Times UK has a section called "What they're wearing in:..." every Saturday with people from all around the world. Last Saturday it was Zurich's turn so I ended up being in the paper. ^^ Thanks a lot to Sarah for contacting me and to Louise for informing me about it on Twitter. I'd love to have the real newspaper from February 13th. So if by chance any of our UK readers has an old paper lying around, please let me know!

A perfect Sunday

... would include reading a magazine in bed. Instead I'm working on a paper which needs to be handed in in two days. Still looking forward to a coffee break with this issue, though.

I honestly want to post more often, especially outfit posts but I just can't take pictures myself and since MiJi is gone it's always a hassle to find someone. So bear with me a little longer...

Wish you all a lovely Sunday!

The first time this winter

I took the first picture in the morning and the second in the evening and as you can see, it finally started snowing here. I'm actually quite happy with it this time, although snow isn't really that pretty in the city.

I haven't been in the mood to take outfit pictures these days but I hope that's soon going to change. In the meantime, you can also follow me on twitter now.

Drinking coffee and listening to this song = cozy evening...

Nostalgia

Our blog is called Styleseeking Zurich because Zurich is the place MiJi and I met and spent most of our time together and in some ways it will be our hometown forever. But every now and then our hearts are somewhere else and so are we.

In every town and country I was so far, I made unforgettable memories and left pieces of my heart.

Most of those pieces are scattered around in Istanbul...

I took these pictures last summer with an old Minolta XG 1 using a black & white film.

Preview: Jimmy Choo for H&M

Get ready for a picture explosion

First: The shoes

Months ago when we saw the press picture announcing the collaboration of Jimmy Choo and H&M, there were these black shoes. I hoped all of the shoes were as great but unfortunately I think they gave the best up front, so those still remain my favourite.

I was also very curious to see the thigh high boots below. Oh my, those were really high! I mean considering my legs are not short, I felt like they designed them for model legs exclusively. ^^ But the leather is quite good, in case you were wondering!

The red wedges below are not a part of the Jimmy Choo collection, they're from the upcoming H&M collection.

The jewelry

I liked the necklace and bracelet below very much.

Upcoming items from the H&M collection

A very delicate sequined vest

The bags

This one is actually very small, you can probably only fit in your cell phone and cigarettes.

My favourite bag is the one below. No fancy-schmancy studs above animal print but simple and understated.

The clothes

The sequined sweater with a zipper is pretty unique and the one shoulder black leather and grey suede dresses are also beautiful.

Anna from Look I Love and Pascal from Fashion Bits and Bobs

Are you counting the days till Novemer 14th to hit the stores? I'm not so sure yet if I'm going to buy anything from the collection, but seeing the items in real life made me like some of them even more, like the black shoes in the first picture. They're subtly sexy yet elegant and also timeless I think.

Business before pleasure

Today I'm meeting up with my blogger friends from Look I love and Fashion Bits and Bobs at the H&M Showroom to preview the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection. I'm curious to see how the pieces look up close and will of course post the pictures later on the blog. But first I have to focus on the presentation I'm going to do in a couple of hours at the university. I have to admit I'm less excited about that than checking out new shoes and bags...
