The first time this winter

I took the first picture in the morning and the second in the evening and as you can see, it finally started snowing here. I'm actually quite happy with it this time, although snow isn't really that pretty in the city.

I haven't been in the mood to take outfit pictures these days but I hope that's soon going to change. In the meantime, you can also follow me on twitter now.

Drinking coffee and listening to this song = cozy evening...

What's in MiJi's bag?

I took one of those "what's in my bag?" photos for all the readers with voyeuristic tendencies ^^
These days I'm toting my drawstring bag which I bought here in Korea and I always have the hello kitty toilet case with me which is filled with my basic make up items. I displayed only a few things, there's actually a lot more in my bag.

Dead leaves and the dirty ground

Today I went from the playground straight to the university.
But now it's time to work harder and play a little less...

In search of lost time

Sometimes, it's easier to say that you're fine instead of having to explain all the reasons why you're not.

I was fine that day in the end of September when these pictures were taken. More than just fine in fact.

I miss you chingu... It comes in waves, you know..? And today it hit me really hard...

Blurry

sheer vintage top + heavy eye makeup.
Everything's a blur when my mind is full.

These pictures were taken at Gwanghwamun. I really like the panorama photo above since I didn't intend to take a blurry one. It was rather a snapshot. Gwanghwamun feels magical to me - it's a beautiful place to be.

Sieg Magazine feature

There is an article about Styleseeking Zurich in the "It blogger" section of Sieg Magazine's fourth issue. We feel very flattered and would like to say thanks to Fafa over at Sieg for contacting us!

You can browse through the magazine and read the article here.

H&M Spring/Summer 2010

The upcoming H&M collection put me in the mood for spring already! Floral and ethno prints are still going strong, as are embellishments of all sorts. Sequins, pearls, studs, colorful stones.. : mostly they're on the shoulders or the neckline and add an interesting touch to the outfits.

Maybe you remember my love for anything peach colored from this post. So this rack filled with vintage-inspired garments was very appealing to me. Denim jackets, leggings and distressed shorts were presented with this sunny color.

"Airy" shoes

Drapey dresses, skirts and silk blouses were the most feminine garments of the collection. The skirt below is already one of my must-haves!

Nautical & romantic

This spring/summer we either wear statement jewelry or have our tops already adorned with embroideries and gems.

The lovely people at the Showroom in Zurich always arrange for a stylish ambience. Thanks once again!

Wine-soaked

I've been obsessed with really dark red lips for some time, especially Chanel's Noirs Obscurs collection looks very tempting. Rouge allure in Maniac is my favourite, it's the perfect deep red in my opinion. You can see some swatches of the lipsticks here.

The dramatic look works best at night but when a slighty lighter colour is chosen and is worn as a stain it works also for daytime.

Art on Monday

There are a couple of art, music and fashion events this week I'm attending and I'd like to share my impressions of the first one today: the International Contemporary Art Fair in Zurich. A friend from university, who is an art historian, was working as a guide there and kindly invited me and tought the art neophyte I am some interesting things.

The fair had to offer a selection of high quality art from top Swiss galleries alongside exhibits from international galleries reflecting the global world of contemporary visual arts. As well as cutting edge art it also focused on contemporary classics and modern art.

Below are some pictures I took at the ZKB Art Award Hall, which showcased the most important representatives of today's young Swiss Gallery scene.

Com & Com Skulls of the artists

Com & Com was founded in 1997 by Johannes M. Hedinger and Marcus Gossolt. They produce among other things films, paintings and sculptures that thematize the boundaries between high art and low culture. These chrome-plated skulls, which are their own, might remind you of the diamond-adorned skull by Damien Hirst, who created his extravagant work 6 years later than Com & Com.

Athene Galiciadis, whose paintings and sculptures were showcased at the fair, is definitely drawn to the (female) backside. This form also repeats itself in her oil paintings, albeit less explicity.

This photograph is from Patrick Hari, who gathered lots of attention with his installation at the fair. He is also the winner of the ZKB Art Award of this year and was constantly working on his installation throughout the fair.

Above and below are the works of Tanja Roscic, in which she transformed Vogue and other magazines by painting and cutting them.

Overall I really enjoyed the fair and it made me naively want to be more creative in my free time. ^^ If it wasn't the last day of the fair, I'd surely recommend it to those living in the area!
